After a couple of weeks, I found that I had lost some weight. This was strange for me because working out wasn’t necessarily a daily ritual. And after incorporating a 15-20 minute exercise daily routine into my schedule, in a week my muscles started to become more defined and I started to become leaner. Tyrosine: The Supplemental Anti-Depressant

What is Tyrosine?

Tyrosine is an amino acid found in many high protein foods. This amino acid is a starting point in the chain of production for catecholamines in the body , which are responsible for the firing of neurons and creating a healthy reward pathway. Included in the catecholamines are epinephrine (adrenaline), norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and dopamine. The hormones epinephrine, and norepinephrine are part of the “fight or flight” response. How To Use This Supplement

It is always a good idea to consult a naturopathic doctor before taking supplements for personal neurochemistry balancing. But if that is not possible for you and your depression seems to be getting worse, it may benefit you just to take 2 tyrosine capsules first thing in the morning and then 1 before exercise. Then ween yourself down to two capsules in the morning once you start to feel more motivated and focused. If the depression is more mild, then by taking 2 capsules upon waking up is a pretty general and effective regimen. Make sure not to take this supplement in the evening or after 5pm, because at that point it may inhibit sleep.
